 STUNNING COTTAGE FLORAL CHINA SET ~ SOLD If you have been looking for a gorgeous vintage dish set, then you will fall in love with the elegance and charm of this fabulous china! This set consists of 52 pieces that date to around the 1930's. This is a service for eight that has eight dinner plates, eight salad plates, eight bread and butter plates, eight berry bowls, one serving bowl, eight teacups eight saucers, a large platter, a gravy boat and a cream jug. The set is very beautiful and elegant looking with gold around the edges, a darker cream that could be mistaken for a very pale yellow band around the outside, a cream center and a gorgeous bouquet of cottage style flowers in the middle. This set is in extremely nice condition for its age. The platter measures a large 13 3/4" x 10.5" with no flaws. The dinner plates measure 10 1/8" across with no chips or cracks. The bread and butter plates measure 6.5" across again with no chips or cracks. There are eight fabulous square plates which are large salad plates or dessert plates. They measure 8" square with no flaws. The saucers measure 6" across with no flaws. The teacups are 4 3/4" long and 2 1/4" high. There is one chip on one of the teacups on the edge. The large serving bowl measures 8 3/4" across on the top. It has one chip underneath the rim that cannot be seen. The berry bowls measure 5 1/8" across. They are probably the most used with fading on the flowers and the gold. One has a small chip. The gravy boat is 8 3/4" long with a small factory flaw on the front. The cream jug measure 3 1/3" and it has one chip on the base. All in all, this is a gorgeous set of dishes that is stunning in person. The gold is beautiful on almost all of the pieces except the berry bowls and some of the pieces have light crazing. The set is marked "The Padden City Pottery Co." on the back. For all 52 pieces, they are less than $2.00 each! This beautiful set would be stunning on your holiday table this season!
