This lovely compote has a gorgeous glass bowl with generous scalloped edges and lovely patterns cut into the glass. Ten beautiful sparkling crystal prisms hang from the edge giving this beautiful compote a pretty, romantic look. The base is fashioned out of thick gold metal in an ornate leaf design. The compote is in lovely condition with no chips or cracks. It has a few flakes out of the glass edge here and there, but they are not really chips and can only been felt with your finger. I believe that these weremost likely done when it was made. The bottom of the bowl has a few scratches, but they will never be seen once something is placed inside. The compote stands about 4.5" high. The bowl measures 8" across and the base is 5" across.
