This particular Louis Jambor print is professionally framed under glass and features two lovely ladies relaxing on a hilltop. One is picking fruit from a tree and the other is reading. A pretty parasol sits in the background as well as a wicker basket of apples. There is a valley down below with a lake and house nearby. This print is entitled "Maytime" and it is signed "L. Jambor" in the bottom corner. The artist Louis Jambor was born in Nagyvarad, Hungary in 1884. He is known for his religious paintings, book illustrations and public murals, but also is admired for his portraits, genre scenes and still life works as well. Jambor is especially known for his illustrations for the 1947 edition of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women as well as the 1949 version of her Jo's Boys. He also created backgrounds for the animated film version of Gulliver's Travels for which he received screen credit. This print is framed in a gorgeous,ornate golden wooden frame that is in wonderful condition with only a few teeny age flaws. It is a extremely large print measuring 33" x 27". It is fully finished with paper on the back and a wire hanger for hanging. Note that there is glass glare in the few of the photographs.
